I’ve posted one smoothie bowl recipe a while ago (here) but have only just got around to posting my much loved açaí smoothie bowl recipes. I’ve grouped them all together here in an Açaí Bowl Bible, but also have a dedicated recipe page for each one.
This recipe is a cacao or ‘chocolate’ açaí smoothie bowl which is really wonderful for any chocolate lovers. There is something about açaí that goes really well with that chocolately cacao flavour… It’s almost like the cacao powder brings out chocolate undertones of the açaí, if that’s possible! This bowl is rich and creamy, as well as being a nutritious breakfast (that tastes like dessert).

- 100 g frozen açai (or 1 large tbsp of açai powder)
- 1 frozen banana
- 1/2 cup almond, oat or coconut milk
- 1 tbsp raw cacao powder
- 1 medjool date (pitted)
- 1/4 cup oats
- 1/4 avocado
- Small handful of spinach
- 1/2 tbsp almond butter
- Toppings (e.g. seeds, nuts, fresh fruit, yoghurt, granola etc.)
-
Add all ingredients into a powerful blender and blend until very very smooth. If the blender is struggling to blend, add a tiny bit more liquid.
-
Pour into a bowl and decorate with your favourite toppings.
